Backpacking Greece

Chalkida & Santorini Island – Casually going broke

Man oh mannnn is Greece freakin expensive or what?! Already went through $400 usd in 3 days and now just had to withdraw another $300 after arriving in Santorini this morning. Coming from Thailand to here is like going from straight to gay.. I can’t believe it! If I wasn’t Greek I’d think this place was a little over rated to be honest. But due to the fact that I am Greek i’m peaking hard at the culture. People were definitely more friendly and willing to go out of their way for you in Thailand but I’m getting used to it. Actually thinking in investing in a nose filter to block out all this cancerous second hand smoke that I’ve been forced to inhale.. it’s ridiculous, you literally can’t go 5 feet without getting a good wiff of someones Marlboro reds! Frappe (coffe) and cigaro’s (cigarettes) are the bread and butter over here haha.

On the brighter side, I’ve fallin in love with about 20+ girls in the matter of 72 hours! the women here are drop dead gorgeous! Usually I hate going to the beach and lounging for more than 15 minutes but nope not here, I was on booty patrol for a good 3 hours! the amount of class and pride the girls have here just makes them that much sexier. The guys are all out of shape and just kiss cigarettes all day, I feel like I should for sure have the upper hand in finding a wife but so far I’ve had no luck:(

Overlooking Chalkida. Chalkida is about an hour north from Athens, Patrick has a house there and his family were letting me stay with them for a couple days.
